Correa, who has represented an Orange County congressional district since 2017, is being challenged in this race by Democrats Frank Bahena, an entrepreneur; Christian Mendez, an operations analyst in Costa Mesa; and Armando “Mando” Perez-Serrato, as well as Republican and UC Irvine professor David Pan.

A longtime elected official in Orange County, Correa has also served in the California Legislature and on the county’s Board of Supervisors.

Bahena, on his campaign website, says he served in the military and is now self-employed.

Mendez is the first in his family to graduate from college and graduate school, his campaign website says. He bills himself as a democratic socialist.

Meanwhile, Pan teaches German at UC Irvine and has worked as a management consultant at McKinsey and Company in Los Angeles. He unsuccessfully challenged Correa in 2024.

Perez-Serrato has mounted multiple unsuccessful bids for office over the years, including as a recall candidate for governor in 2021.

This Orange County-only district includes Anaheim, Fullerton, Orange, Placentia and Santa Ana, and nearly 46% of voters here are registered Democrats. Another 24% are Republicans and nearly 24% are no party preference voters.

Vote tallies will be updated throughout the night and in the coming days as more ballots are counted, so check back periodically for the latest information.
