Goetz, who trained in Strasbourg, France, and worked in Michelin-starred kitchens in Europe before landing in Orange County, created a menu built around contemporary California cuisine with a wine-country bent. Over the years, the lineup has featured steaks, seafood, duck breast, short ribs and other dishes suited to the eatery’s sprawling wine collection.

The Tustin spot also housed climate-controlled cellars capable of holding up to 7,500 bottles, with a wine program featuring hundreds of selections.

The Tustin opening was followed by a waterfront Newport Beach restaurant of the same name in 2014. A third location in La Jolla closed in late 2024 after six years in business.

The Winery Restaurant & Wine Bar’s Newport Beach location can be found at 3131 West Coast Highway, Newport Beach.
