ALL-COUNTY BOYS TRACK AND FIELD TEAM 2026
ATHLETE OF THE YEAR
Benjamin Harris, Servite, Jr.
Servite’s Benjamin Harris won plenty of events this season.
He capped it off by winning the 100 meters at the CIF Track and Field Championships.

His wind-aided time of 10.14 seconds was the best time under all conditions in California high school track this season. It was the 10th-best time under all conditions in the nation this season.
Harris also finished first in the 100 at the CIF Southern Section Finals and at the CIF-SS Masters Meet.
He won the 100 at the Arcadia Invitational and at the Trinity League Finals.
Harris’ season got off to a slow start because of lingering effects from an ankle injury he incurred late in the football season, but once he got going he indeed got going.
He was a CIF-SS champion in the 200 with his wind-aided time of 20.51, his personal best under all conditions. Harris was fifth in the 200 at the CIF State meet with a wind-aided time of 20.84.
He also anchored Servite’s 4×100 relay that won the state title. That relay group was the first in California high school history to finish under 40 seconds when the Friars won the 4×100 at the Arcadia Invitational in April with a time of 39.70 seconds. Servite’s time at the state meet was 39.73.
Plenty of highlights. His most-treasured of them all? The state meet 100.
He finished fifth in the state in the 100 as a freshman and second last year as a sophomore.
“Before I even saw the ‘10.14’ I saw on the board ‘Benjamin Harris’ as the winner and that was such a blessing,” Harris said. “Having come up short my first two years and then finally getting the result I wanted? What a blessing.”
Harris (5-9, 165), who said he plans to continue to playing football at Servite, won the 100 at the Brooks PR Invitational last week with a time of 10.58 seconds.

Servite track and field coach Brandon Thomas said Harris’ success comes from more than just his natural gifts.
“Ben’s the ultimate competitor,” Thomas said. “He refuses to lose.”
And Harris got the win he most wanted.
“I’m a state champion,” he said. “That’s always going to be in the record books.”
COACH OF THE YEAR
Brandon Thomas, Servite
Servite won the team title at the CIF State Championships with 60 points. That is the most points any boys team has collected in the more than 100 years of CIF State meet history. Second-place ML King of Riverside totaled 28 points.
Servite finished second to Notre Dame of Sherman Oaks in Division 3 at the CIF Southern Section Finals.
Thomas also coaches the Rosary girls track and field team.
He started working with Servite sprinters as an assistant coach when his son Max Thomas, now an Olympic hopeful sprinter, was a freshman at Servite. Thomas became Servite’s track and field head coach in 2023.
