A man was killed in Orange after being struck by a vehicle after a fight on Saturday night, June 13, authorities said.

The Orange Police Department received reports of a fight in the 600 block of South Fashion Park shortly before 10:30 p.m. The suspect, 28-year-old Abrahan Perez of Orange, left the area shortly before officers arrived, according to a news release.

A short time later, Perez drove back toward the South Fashion Park address, maneuvered his vehicle onto a courtyard area in front of an apartment complex, and accelerated toward the victim, police said.

The vehicle struck the man and caused critical injuries, the release said. The victim was transported to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Officers said Perez was taken into custody and will be booked into the Orange County Jail on homicide charges.

The identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification of his family.
