Hundreds of items from the personal collection of actress, dancer and singer Ann-Margret, including costumes, scripts, movie memorabilia and a custom Harley-Davidson motorcycle, are scheduled to go up for auction Tuesday in Gardena.

Julien’s Auctions, in partnership with Turner Classic Movies, is offering more than 300 items directly consigned by the five-time Golden Globe winner and Oscar-nominated entertainer as part of “The Collection of Ann-Margret.”

According to organizers, Ann-Margret, 85, decided the time was right to share personal treasures from her seven-decade career with fans and collectors.
Among the items up for bid are stage-worn costumes, many designed by Bob Mackie, including gowns worn to Academy Awards and Golden Globe ceremonies, television appearances and live performances.
Also included are scripts from films such as “Bye Bye Birdie,” “Viva Las Vegas,” “Carnal Knowledge,” “Tommy,” “Grumpy Old Men” and “Grumpier Old Men.”
The collection includes movie posters that hung in Ann-Margret’s home theater, archival memorabilia, personal effects and household items, organizers said.
One of the auction’s most notable offerings is Ann-Margret’s custom-painted 1997 Harley-Davidson Sportster XL883 Hugger motorcycle.

Other items include stage costumes, jewelry, fur coats, record collections, helmets, cowboy hats and a 1981 “Donkey Kong” arcade game.
Organizers said the collection reflects the entertainer’s career in film, television, music and live performance dating back to the early 1960s.
Highlights include a 1962 gown worn when Ann-Margret performed “Bachelor in Paradise” at the Academy Awards, a 1963 gown worn during an appearance on “The Ed Sullivan Show” and at a performance for President John F. Kennedy, and a black dress worn to the 1976 Golden Globe Awards, where she won best actress for her role in “Tommy.”
The auction is part of Julien’s Auctions and TCM’s “A Month of Hollywood Legends,” a series of memorabilia sales featuring nearly 1,500 lots of entertainment-related artifacts, costumes, props and collectibles.
Ann-Margret rose to fame with starring roles in films including “Bye Bye Birdie,” “Viva Las Vegas,” “The Cincinnati Kid,” “Carnal Knowledge” and “Tommy.” She also built a successful recording and television career spanning more than six decades.
