Earl of Sandwich has opened its new permanent home at Downtown Disney after the nomadic sandwich shop spent years bouncing around the Anaheim outdoor shopping mall next to Disneyland and Disney California Adventure.

Earl of Sandwich opened at 5 p.m. on Friday, June 26 at its new location in the west end of Downtown Disney, according to Earl Enterprises.
The new Downtown Disney restaurant will host an official grand opening ceremony on July 15 with the 12th Earl of Sandwich, Luke Montagu, traveling to Anaheim from his 1,900-acre 16th century estate in England for the occasion.

“We didn’t want to simply build another Earl of Sandwich. We wanted to create a destination worthy of the Downtown Disney District,” Earl of Sandwich founder Robert Earl said in a statement. “As Downtown Disney enters an exciting new chapter, we saw an opportunity to reimagine what Earl of Sandwich could be alongside it.”
The largest and most ambitious Earl of Sandwich in the history of the 33-restaurant chain will include an expanded bakery called The Carvery and will serve beer, wine and frozen drinks in The Pub.
The Carvery will serve fresh-carved pastrami throughout the day in view of diners. The bakery will also offer cookies, cinnamon rolls and seasonal specialties.
The new flagship restaurant will continue to serve a menu of hot and cold sandwiches ($11), wraps ($10.50), salads ($10.50), pizza ($10-$11), soups ($6) and breakfast ($10-$11).
The restaurant traces its heritage to 1762 when the 4th Earl of Sandwich popularized the hand-held meal and inspired its name.
The new Earl of Sandwich in Downtown Disney is open daily from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. and stays open until midnight on Friday and Saturday nights.

The new Gordon Ramsay at The Carnaby gastropub under construction next door to the new Earl of Sandwich in Downtown Disney will open at a later date.
Earl of Sandwich has led a vagabond life at Downtown Disney over the past four years.
The original Earl of Sandwich restaurant was torn down in 2022 along with AMC Theatre, Starbucks West and Sugarboo and Co. as part of the renovation of the west end of Downtown Disney.
Earl of Sandwich moved into the former La Brea Bakery in 2023 when plans for Porto’s Bakery to take over the location were delayed.
A temporary Earl of Sandwich pop-up trailer was installed in 2024 next to the Star Wars Trading Post in Downtown Disney during another Porto’s false start.
Earl of Sandwich finally moved out in 2025 to make way for the demolition of the former La Brea Bakery and construction of the new Porto’s Bakery.
Since then, Earl of Sandwich has operated out of the pop-up trailer while construction continued on the new location.
