Woman’s Club helps celebrate America’s 250th
Members of the Woman’s Club of Orange recently welcomed special guests to their June general meeting focused on America’s 250th birthday.
The luncheon began with a commemorative Flag Salute, led by the Sons of the American Revolutionary Color Guard presenting the flags, including the American Flag, the Betsy Ross Flag, the Union Jack and the Sons of the American Revolution Flag. Miss Orange Kalista Brown performed the national anthem.
The afternoon agenda included a $3,000 check presentation to Alfa Hernandez and Letti Solis, representatives from Homeless Intervention Services, which provides shelter, housing and support services for homeless individuals and families in Orange County. Club members also collected essential items valued at $1,200, which were given to Rebecca Martinez, representing Home Aid Orange County, a nonprofit that builds and renovates housing for those at risk or who are experiencing homelessness, including families, veterans and individuals with disabilities.
