“The Ring” actress Daveigh Chase, who apparently spent her final years living in an RV on skid row, had an estate worth $400,000 when she died, according to court documents.

Her mother, Cathy Chase, earlier this month asked a Los Angeles Superior Court to appoint her as administrator, according to probate filings obtained by US Weekly. She noted that Chase, who did not leave behind a will, was unmarried and had no children. She also listed the actress’ father, John Schwallier, as a potential “estate descendant,” noting that he “keeps properties in Las Vegas” and that he currently “resides in the Philippines with an unknown address.”
A probate hearing has been scheduled for Aug. 12. In the meantime, Cathy has requested that the court approve a $400,000 bond.
Chase died on June 16 in a Los Angeles hospital at the age of 35 years old. Her father told reporters at the time that she’d been living on the streets before her death, not far the medical facility where she spent her final moments.

According to the Los Angeles medical examiner’s report, Chase’s primary cause of death was acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS), with mixed drug use listed as a contributing factor.

Once an in-demand actress, Chase was best known for voicing Lilo in Disney’s “Lilo & Stitch” as well as playing haunting villain Samara in the 2002 movie, “The Ring.” She all but disappeared from the spotlight and quit acting altogether in 2016, the same year as her final credited film roles in “American Romance” and Jack Goes Home.”
Then, in 2017, Chase was arrested after she was accused of fleeing the scene and leaving a dying man outside of a hospital. She was not suspected of being involved in his death but was reportedly wanted on an outstanding warrant at the time.
