A 61-year-old woman was found dead inside a Laguna Beach home in the Rim Rock Canyon area on Monday, July 20, and police were investigating whether foul play was involved, authorities said.

Officers responded to the 1300 block of Dunning Drive about 11 a.m. and found Angela Caprioli dead inside, Laguna Beach police said.
Caprioli’s cause of death was under investigation, police said.
A 36-year-old man was identified as a person of interest, police said, but it was not known if he was in custody or what his relationship, if any, was to Caprioli.
Detectives, with help from the Orange County Crime Lab, were continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding Caprioli’s death, police said.

Dustin Petit, a neighbor, told CBS Los Angeles that a man in his 30s had moved into the woman’s home about six months ago, describing him as “pretty mysterious. …
“He wasn’t talking to us, you know, he would come outside, smoke a cigarette and play some guitar,” Petit told the station. “That’s kinda the extent of the relationship we’ve had with him over the last six months or so.”
Neighbors also told the station that the man had caretakers visit the house frequently.
