Regency’s 18-and-under girls water polo team and the Legacy 16’s claimed bronze medals at the Junior Olympics in Irvine on Tuesday.
Regency edged Newport Beach 11-10 in the third-place match at Woollett Aquatics Center after falling to Lamorinda 16-13 in the semifinals.
Eventual champion Santa Barbara defeated Newport Beach 14-4 in the other semifinal.

In the 16-and-under division, Legacy won a shootout against Mission 4-2 to claim the bronze after regulation ended in an 8-8 tie. Orange Lutheran’s Kyrie De Bie scored a match-high four goals for Legacy.
Santa Barbara also captured gold in the 16-and-under division by defeating 680 Red 8-4 in the final.
Top-seeded Newport Beach Blue defended its title in the 14-and-under division by defeating Diablo Alliance 19-6 in the championship. CeCe Mesenbrink, a Class of 2030 recruit, scored six goals and added four assists for Newport Beach.
