One person was dead and a man was in custody following a shooting at Hart Park in Orange Tuesday night, Aug. 4, authorities said.

Orange police officers were called to the park about 6:40 p.m. and found a victim dead at the scene, police said in a Facebook post.
A man was seen running from the area with a handgun, police said.
Officers tracked him down and took him into custody.
Video from OC Hawk, a freelance news organization that sometimes works with The Orange County Register, shows detectives investigating in an area with dozens of outdoor tables on the western side of the park near Glassell Street.

The suspect had not yet been identified by police. The victim’s identity was withheld pending notification of his or her relatives.
