A man and a woman were arrested in connection with a shooting in a Stater Bros. parking lot in Costa Mesa on Tuesday morning, Aug. 18, police said.

Officers responded to the supermarket on the 2100 block of Newport Boulevard on a report of a possible shooting around 7:35 a.m., Costa Mesa Police Department spokesperson Roxi Fyad said.
They located a person suffering from a gunshot wound in the parking lot, and the victim was transported to a hospital. The wound was non-life-threatening, Fyad said.

Police also headed to an apartment complex less than a mile away, on the 2400 block of Newport Boulevard, where a suspect was believed to be. A man and a woman were arrested there just before 3 p.m.
The circumstances that led to the shooting were not known, according to Fyad. The identities of the victim and suspects were not immediately provided.
