GIRLS VOLLEYBALL TOP 10
Records through Aug. 17
1. Mater Dei (2-0): The Monarchs have a loaded roster and have earned a five-set win over Harvard-Westlake. Senior outside hitter Westley Matavao, who committed to UCLA, was All-Orange County first team and All-CIF last season when the Monarchs went 35-3 and won the CIF State Open Division championship. Also back is an All-County fourth-team selection, middle blocker Emma Kingston, who committed to LSU. Senior outside/opposite hitter Shewa Adefemiwa is also an LSU commit. An unusually high number of transfers have arrived at Mater Dei, including senior outside hitter Katherine Nowak, a Georgetown commit who was All-County third team last season at JSerra.

2. Santa Margarita (2-1): The Eagles are led by 6-4 senior outside hitter Ireland Real, who was All-County first team and the CIF-SS Division 2 player of the year last season. Senior outside hitter Kate Jackson was All-CIF and All-County third team last year.
3. Los Alamitos (2-0): Senior libero Kaitlyn Herweg was All-County third team last season.
4. Newport Harbor (7-0): Senior outside hitter Ella Olson, a Texas commit, was All-County first team last year and junior outside hitter Piper Coady is also a standout player.
5. San Juan Hills (0-3): Powerful-hitting junior Megan Hodges was All-CIF and All-County first team last season. Senior outside hitter Alexis Link was All-CIF and All-County second team. The Stallions opened the season with losses to three outstanding teams: CIF-SS Division 1 defending champion Sierra Canyon, Harvard-Westlake and Hawaii’s Iolani in the Ann Kang Invitational at Iolani High.
6. Crean Lutheran (7-0): Senior outside hitter Brooklyn Jones was All-County fourth team in 2025.

7. Orange Lutheran (0-1): Senior setter Marley Robinson, one of the county’s better all-around players, committed to Oregon. Korryn Mayo, a powerful outside hitter who was All-County second team last season as a junior at Marina, is now at Orange Lutheran.
8. San Clemente (3-3): Tritons senior middle blocker Ryan Cuena was All-County fourth team last season.
9. JSerra (2-4): Senior outside/opposite hitter Makayla Ziegler was All-Trinity League first team and All-County second team last year. Senior libero Madison Goodridge was All-Trinity second team last year.
10. Huntington Beach (1-0): This is a young team that has one All-Sunset League returnee, junior middle blocker Amaya Lesley.
