Summit’s story: Although he is sweet and loves other dogs, Summit has been overlooked because he is quite shy. In his kennel, he huddles in the background looking for safety, and once in the play yards, he takes some time to trust new people. He has never been the least bit aggressive, but he avoids contact with new people, so he remains homeless. But, given the chance to learn at his own pace that he is safe, Summit will bond like no other dog. Learning that his people trust him to take the next step will ensure that he gains confidence and grows to adore his new home. This bond between a shy dog and his people is quite special. It may take a bit of extra effort to win Summit’s love, but once you have it, he will love you as no other dog will. Summit would also benefit from another dog in the house who can show him the ropes.
