Good news, Dutch Mafia: Santa Ana will soon be home to a new Dutch Bros., as Orange County Business Journal’s Nancy Luna sniffed out during a recent site visit.

Continuing to expand its Orange County footprint, the Oregon-born coffee shop, known for its zany espresso drinks and exceedingly chippy customer service, is slated to open in the fourth quarter of this year. According to the company’s website, Dutch Bros is also now hiring “broistas,” an affectionate term they use for front-line employees.
This will mark the company’s fifth location in Orange County. Its first regional drive-through shop opened in February 2024 in Fountain Valley, drawing pre-dawn crowds on opening day.
Compared with other mega-chain coffee purveyors, Dutch Bros’ menu skews more bombastic and creative. Notable examples include the Golden Eagle (featuring espresso, caramel and vanilla breve, and caramel drizzle), the Double Torture (double shot of espresso with vanilla syrup, chocolate milk and whipped cream) and the 9-1-1 (a wallop of six shots of espresso with Irish cream syrup and half and half). The chain also serves its signature brand of fizzy Rebel energy drinks.

Such libations combined with its on-brand chumminess have helped turn Dutch Bros into a billion-dollar public company. As of June 30, Dutch Bros has more than 1,200 stores across 27 states and territories.
Something to note: The new Dutch Bros will count In-N-Out and Chick-fil-A as neighbors, as well as Benjies. What does that mean for you? A possible parking and traffic headache. According to colleagues familiar with the area, parking near the fast-food spots become scarce during dinnertime, while drive-through lines can block what little space remains.
