It’s called the Salt & Straw Churro Ice Cream Taco, and it’s a partnership with the Portland, Ore.-based ice cream company that is in the dessert’s name.
The dessert features churro-flavored ice cream with puffed rice and dark chocolate-flavored coating on the outside resembling a hard-shell taco. It will sell for around $3.99, according to a news release from Taco Bell. Prices may vary by location.
There will also be a Salt & Straw Choco-Waffle Chiller topped with a crackable chocolate shell at Live Mas Cafes, a beverage-forward rebranding to Taco Bell locations. It will cost about $4.69.

Taco Bell is also currently featuring a Decades menu featuring items it offered during 2016. Among them is the Naked Chicken Chalupa, which has a shell made out of white meat chicken breast, and the Caramel Apple Empanada.
The original Choco Taco was a supermarket novelty invented in the 1980s and sold at several Taco Bell locations.
Ice cream maker Klondike discontinued it in 2022, but Taco Bell partnered with Salt & Straw to come up with a similar product. Late last year, they announced Tacolate made with cinnamon ancho ice cream hand-pressed into a waffle cone taco shell, as the Salt & Straw website describes it. It can be ordered online or purchased at Salt & Straw scoop shops. There are several in Southern California, including Downtown Disney.
