Pouring hundreds of wines within eyeshot of the Pacific at Paséa Hotel and Spa, California Wine Festival will return to Huntington Beach on Friday, Oct. 16 and Saturday, Oct. 17.

The oenophilic weekend starts with the scarce stuff: Sunset Rare and Reserve Tasting, happening Friday from 6:30 to 9 p.m., takes place inside the hotel’s Sapphire Ballroom. The kickoff night will hone in on rare, reserve and limited-production wines. The more intimate opening-night event also includes a sparking wine reception, appetizers and live music.
On Saturday, the larger Beachside Wine Festival moves into the hotel’s indoor and outdoor oceanfront spaces. From 1 to 4 p.m., guests can sample hundreds of wines, regional craft beers and food from participating culinary purveyors.

Wineries will include Adobe Road, Barlow, Burtech Family Vineyard, Caymus Vineyards, Double Bound, Kubani Wines, Navarro, Trefethen Family Vineyards and Wilson Creek, among many others. Bites will be provided by such eateries as Cucina Alessá, Duke’s, Graze Craze, L’Waffle, Nardò and more. While the food menu has yet to be fully cemented, guests can look forward to cheeses, breads, olive oil, shellfish, salads, chocolates and desserts.

Proceeds from the festival’s auction will help benefit Sandy Feet Initiative, an Orange County nonprofit organization that supports the needs of siblings of children with special needs.
As expected, the event is restricted to attendees 21 and older. Tickets, which can be purchased via Eventbrite, range in cost from $85 to $300.
Founded in 2004 in Santa Barbara, California Wine Festival bills itself as one of the largest outdoor wine festivals in the Golden State.
