Notable this week: No changes this week in the Top 10 after No. 1-ranked Santa Margarita defeated Mater Dei 14-7 last week. … San Juan Hills rises to No. 13 after a 61-10 win over Los Alamitos in the Alpha League. … Capistrano Valley climbs to No. 12 after it defeated La Habra, 42-20. … Seven teams in the Top 25 are undefeated: Santa Margarita, San Clemente, Corona del Mar, Huntington Beach, Capistrano Valley, Dana Hills and Orange.

1. Santa Margarita 6-0 (75 points)
The Eagles’ defense led the way in a 14-7 win over the Monarchs in a Trinity League opener. Santa Margarita collected seven sacks and sealed the victory with an interception by freshman Jayden Jack. Jake Martin had 12 total tackles. Santa Margarita has a home game Friday against Servite at Saddleback College.

2. Mater Dei 4-2 (72)
The Monarchs lost a close one to Santa Margarita for the second season in a row. Mater Dei, which lost to the Eagles 7-6 in 2025, was driving for a potential game-tying touchdown before a Santa Margarita interception in the end zone iced the Eagles’ 14-7 win. The Monarchs had difficulty running the ball, amassing only 84 yards on 30 carries. Mater Dei plays at JSerra on Friday.

3. Orange Lutheran 4-2 (69)
The Lancers were terrific in a 56-21 win over Servite in a Trinity League game. Senior quarterback Reagan Toki completed 14 of 18 passes for 256 yards and three touchdowns. Sophomore running back Ryan Christianson rushed for 144 yards and four touchdowns. Orange Lutheran’s losses are to Sierra Canyon (No. 6 in the MaxPreps national rankings) and Central of Miami (No. 21 in the MaxPreps national rankings). Orange Lutheran plays at St. John Bosco (5-1) on Friday.

4. Mission Viejo 5-1 (66)
The Diablos rumbled to a 42-14 win over Edison in the Alpha League. Carson Vandermade rushed for 147 yards and three touchdowns. Jack Junker rushed for 123 yards and one touchdown. Mission Viejo’s loss was to undefeated Folsom. Mission Viejo plays at Yorba Linda on Thursday.

5. JSerra 4-2 (63)
The Lions lost to St. John Bosco, 40-14, in a Trinity League opener. JSerra gave up 288 rushing yards. Dylan Fenn had eight solo tackles for the Lions. St. John Bosco is No. 4 in HSratings’ California rankings. JSerra’s other loss was to state No. 2 Sierra Canyon. The Lions play a home game Friday against Mater Dei.

6. San Clemente 6-0 (60)
The Tritons beat Yorba Linda, 28-0, in the Alpha League opener for both teams. San Clemente quarterback Preston Beck threw for 236 yards and three touchdowns, two of them to Jaxson Rex. Rex also had seven solo tackles. It was San Clemente’s second shutout this season. San Clemente plays at Los Alamitos (0-6) on Friday.

7. Servite 3-3 (56)
The Friars were missing perhaps their best offensive and defensive players, running back Jorden Wells and linebacker Cinco Kennett, respectively, in a 56-21 loss to Orange Lutheran. Servite senior running back Benjamin Harris, last year’s CIF State champion in the 100 meters, rushed for 142 yards on 13 carries including a 78-yard touchdown run. Servite plays undefeated Santa Margarita at Saddleback College on Friday.

8. Corona del Mar 6-0 (54)
The Sea Kings beat Villa Park, 24-10, in a Bravo League game. That was Villa Park’s first loss. Trejan Nixon rushed for 98 yards and a touchdown and had a receiving touchdown for Corona del Mar. Will Ingham had five solo tackles. The Sea Kings face Tustin on Friday.

9. Crean Lutheran 4-2 (52)
The Saints beat Tustin, 21-7, in a Bravo League opener for both. Running back Caleb Bey Jr. scored all three Crean Lutheran touchdowns. Bey finished with 141 yards on 21 carries. Crean Lutheran’s losses are to JSerra (4-2) and Oak Ridge (4-1) of El Dorado Hills. The Saints have a home game Friday against Capistrano Valley.

10. Huntington Beach 6-0 (48)
Dylin Bruce scored the winning touchdown with 15 seconds remaining on a pass from quarterback Brady Edmunds in the Oilers’ 24-21 win over El Modena in the Delta League. Bruce had seven catches for 70 yards. Huntington Beach plays at Dana Hills on Friday.
