LONG BEACH — It was a better result this time around for Felix Rosenqvist.
The pole sitter for the 51st annual Grand Prix of Long Beach, Rosenqvist’s second-place finish is his best in seven starts in Southern California.

“I think, all in all, we have to be happy,” he said. “If you take things into perspective, it’s been a very good weekend.”
The pole winner in Long Beach two years ago, Rosenqvist was ninth that day and had never finished higher than fourth.
“Going into the weekend, we were just trying to do something different and try to reload a little bit and get the confidence back,” said Rosenqvist, whose previous best finish this season was a pair of 12th-place results at St. Petersburg and Phoenix. “I think this result is important mentally, not just for me, but for everyone on the crew.”
The 34-year-old Swede led the first 51 laps on Sunday, his most at the 1.968-mile street course.
“Obviously, you want to win and/or have the opportunity, but I’m proud of today,” Rosenqvist said. “I think everything we were working on kind of paid off.”
STADIUM SUPER TRUCKS
Matt Brabham doesn’t care about father-son rivalries.
A day after 17-year-old Max Gordon won Race 1 on Saturday night, Brabham held on to beat both Robby and Max Gordon to win the Speed Energy Stadium Super Trucks Race 2 on Sunday.
“Beating the both of them is always good fun,” said Brabham, who last won in Long Beach in 2023. “The fact that they were two-three behind me, the best.”

Max Gordon came from the back row on Saturday night to claim Race 1, but Brabham jumped to the lead on Saturday and did not look back, leading the final five laps to claim his first win of the season.
Robby Gordon finished second in both races, holding off his son in Race 2.
“My dad’s still got it. He can still show it when he wants to show it,” Max Gordon said.
The Stadium Super Trucks have been a part of race weekend in Long Beach since 2013.
PORSCHE CARRERA CUP
Tom Sargent doubled his fun this weekend.
The 23-year-old Australian led all 30 laps from the pole to win Race 1 on Saturday before doing it again in Race 2 on Sunday to sweep the IMSA Porsche Carrera Cup this weekend.
“For me, the end goal is still a factory drive with Porsche,” Sargent said, “I need to prove myself for that, and the last three weeks or so have been a good start for that, but there is still a long way to go.”
Sargent recently teamed to win at Sonoma Raceway in the first three-hour GT World Challenge America and then added another win in his European Le Mans Series debut in Barcelona last week.
Driving the No. 32 GMG Racing Porsche 911, Sargent won comfortably by 2.245 seconds on Saturday before narrowly beating Aaron Jeansonne to the line by .965 seconds on Sunday.
