The Edison and JSerra girls beach volleyball teams lost in the CIF Southern Section finals Saturday at Long Beach City College.

JSerra lost to Mira Costa 5-0 in the Division 1 final. The Lions defeated Newport Harbor in the first round of the playoffs and Redondo Union in the semifinals.
Edison lost to Bishop Montgomery 3-2 in the Division 2 final. The Chargers defeated Capistrano Valley Christian 5-0 in the first round, Ventura 3-2 in the quarterfinals and Laguna Beach 5-0 in the semifinals.

This was the fourth season for the CIF-SS championships for girls beach volleyball.
The CIF-SS individual pairs championships begin Wednesday at the courts at the Huntington Beach Pier. The quarterfinals, semifinals and finals are at the same location Thursday.
