Edison’s softball team erupted for seven runs in the seventh inning to defeat host El Toro 10-3 in the second round of the CIF-SS Division 3 playoffs on Monday.

Edison (18-11) snapped a 3-3 tie in the seventh and advanced to Wednesday’s quarterfinal at Great Oak.

In the seventh, Edison received a two-run triple from Aubrey Catron, a RBI double from Kaila Arakaki, a two-run single from Avea Niumata and a RBI single from Savannah Fisher. Elina Garcia drove in another run with a sacrifice bunt.

Freshman left-handed pitcher Raelynn Rubio earned the victory with 3 1/3 innings of scoreless relief for Edison.

El Toro’s Hayden Jo Stofle, who pitched a no-hitter with 17 strikeouts against Colton in the first round, allowed six runs and struck out 12.

Ellie Mattocks, Jaylee Longo and Kaelyn Perez each had two for El Toro (12-9-1).

In Division 2:

Huntington Beach 11, Camarillo 8: Freshmen shortstop Ella Carreon went 3 for 5 with two home runs and three RBIs and sophomore center fielder Sienna Shortle went 3 for 3 with two RBIs to lead the visiting Oilers (20-10).

Huntington Beach plays at San Clemente in the quarterfinals on Wednesday.

In Division 4:

Burroughs of Burbank 5, Rosary 1: K’lene Gutierrez drove in the lone run for the Royals (15-15) at Fullerton College. Valentina Reyes tossed a four-hitter with seven strikeouts for Burroughs, which plays Ramona in the quarterfinals Wednesday.

In Division 8:

San Bernardino 17, Bolsa Grande 4: Roxanna Torres and Lilly Correa each had two hits and Joselyn Suarez drove in two runs for the visiting Matadors (19-6).
