{"id":11910,"date":"2026-06-03T18:31:42","date_gmt":"2026-06-03T18:31:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/siliconvalleymovingpost.com\/?p=11910"},"modified":"2026-06-03T18:31:42","modified_gmt":"2026-06-03T18:31:42","slug":"dutch-court-allows-rapper-ye-concerts-in-the-netherlands","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/siliconvalleymovingpost.com\/?p=11910","title":{"rendered":"Dutch court allows rapper Ye concerts in the Netherlands"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p><strong>By MOLLY QUELL<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>AMSTERDAM (AP) \u2014 A judge in Amsterdam on Wednesday rejected an appeal by a Jewish organization to block two performances by the rapper Ye, formerly Kanye West, ruling that the concerts are not a threat to public order.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/siliconvalleymovingpost.com\/?p=11908\">After 60 years of hurt England turns to a German coach to end World Cup title drought<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Ye has drawn widespread controversy in recent years for a series of antisemitic remarks, leaving Dutch authorities under mounting pressure to cancel the gigs on June 6 and 8.<\/p>\n<p>The Central Jewish Council filed the emergency lawsuit on Tuesday, arguing that Ye should be banned from the country for voicing admiration for Adolf Hilter and selling T-shirts featuring swastikas.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Amsterdam District Court, there were no grounds to bar Ye from performing. \u201cThere are no indications that West\u2019s presence in the coming days will lead to concrete public order dangers,\u201d the court said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>The Central Jewish Council expressed disappointment with the ruling. \u201cThe feeling we are getting is that it is okay if you are antisemitic,\u201d Chanan Hertzberger, the organization\u2019s chair, told The Associated Press.<\/p>\n<p>Lawmakers in the Netherlands supported a motion to bar Ye from entering the country but the country\u2019s immigration minister said there was no legal basis for such a move. In April, he was barred from entering the U.K. over his remarks, setting off a series of cancellations.
