The rumors indeed were true. Trader Joe\u2019s is moving within the popular Laguna Niguel side of Ocean Ranch Village.<\/p>

Alcohol permits with the Monrovia-based chain listed as the applicant showed up in recent days at the retail center, which sits at the southern end of the city where it meets Dana Point. (The center continues to the south in Dana Point, across Camino Del Avion.)<\/p>\n

Trader Joe\u2019s is shifting to a vacant Bed Bath & Beyond store that is being redeveloped by property owner Shea Properties. The store has been split in two, with space for the quirky TJ\u2019s and an Ulta Beauty store, which signed its lease recently.<\/p>\n

Residents ferreted out the news a month ago when store employees told them the Trader Joe\u2019s was moving, but not very far. A company representative declined to confirm the pivot.<\/p>\n

The new store should be larger and will sit a little deeper in the center, where more parking spreads to the west toward Curl Fitness and Bottega Angelina.<\/p>\n

Trader Joe\u2019s has been investing heavily in Southern California, opening new stores in the past year and renovating or expanding existing ones. In Orange, the longtime store at the Village at Orange expanded to the north into a shuttered CVS drugstore. New stores came to Costa Mesa and Ladera Ranch.<\/p>\n
