This free event is estimated to take place in more than 2,000 cities, ranging from people playing their kazoos on a street corner to full-blown concerts. It started in France in 1982, and is now celebrated in dozens of countries.<\/p>\n

What makes it different is that this event is for anyone who wants to participate \u2014 not just professional musicians \u2014 in any way they choose to do it. Everything is open and free.<\/p>\n

This year, local cities include Anaheim, Big Bear, Carlsbad (at the Museum of Making Music), Fullerton, Long Beach, Los Angeles, Orange, Santa Monica, Topanga and Ventura.<\/p>\n
