There is an exciting opportunity for the community coming up!<\/p>\n

Ringling Bros is returning to Anaheim this July at the Honda Center. There will be a special \u201csneak peek\u201d of its new show at local library branches.<\/p>\n

Ringling Hype Crew circus artists will entertain and delight audiences with an exclusive preview performance featuring unicycle tricks, jump rope acrobatics, hand balancing, plus a special appearance with adorable robo-pup Bailey Circuit.<\/p>\n

These special previews will be coming to Anaheim libraries: Euclid Branch at 3:30 p.m. on June 26; Haskett Branch at 4 p.m. on July 1; and Ponderosa Joint-Use Library at 5:30 p.m. on July 2. Don\u2019t miss the fun!<\/p>\n

See original paintings of Anaheim landmarks<\/h4>\n

The Center Art Gallery in the Downtown Community Center has a new exhibit on display: \u201cAnaheim \u2013 Through the Eyes of an Artist.\u201d<\/p>\n

The project is designed for the purpose of perpetuating local heritage and to awaken interest and develop civic pride.\u00a0 There will be a wide variety of styles and different mediums represented in the pieces displayed.<\/p>\n

The exhibit will be available through July 9.<\/p>\n

Muzeo has summer concerts planned<\/h4>\n

The Muzeo Museum and Cultural Center has a free summer concert series.<\/p>\n

\n<\/div>\n

The performers will be Sol Societe, a 1970s-influenced original pop group, on July 10 and Clever Soul, a \u201970s R & B group, on Aug.\u00a0 14.<\/p>\n

The concerts will be held right in the Muzeo\u2019s Carnegie Plaza, gates open at 6 p.m. Take your own lawn chair; wine and beer will be available for purchase.<\/p>\n

The Muzeo has two spring exhibits on display through July 12 that celebrate moments in the city\u2019s past.<\/p>\n

The Muzeo\u2019s Main Gallery will present \u201cConcrete Wave: Vans at 60 and the Birth of Anaheim Skateboard Culture,\u201d which is a tribute to Vans\u2019 60th anniversary and the pioneering skate culture that took root right in Anaheim.<\/p>\n

In the historic Carnegie Building, \u201cCatching the Spirit of \u201976: America\u2019s Bicentennial\u201d will commemorate the nation\u2019s 250th birthday with a look back to 1976.<\/p>\n

Anaheim Historical Society celebrates the year<\/h4>\n

The Anaheim Historical Society is holding its annual banquet on June 25.<\/p>\n

There will be a special presentation by Chris Jepsen on Anaheim 250 years ago, and the group will recognize Dukku Lee as this year\u2019s Andy Anaheim Award recipient.<\/p>\n

Reservations are now open for the 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. event at Mama Cozza\u2019s Restaurant.\u00a0 Cost is $50 for members and $55 for non-members and includes dinner, dessert and non-alcoholic beverages. RSVP to Holly at hollyvanos@aol.com.<\/p>\n

Free CPR certification class offered<\/h4>\n

There will be a class offered on June 26 for getting CPR certified.<\/p>\n

It will be a hands-on class, and will be led by Anaheim Colony\u2019s Greg Gerovac. This is a great opportunity to learn lifesaving skills that can help protect family, friends, neighbors and others.<\/p>\n

Reservations are required for the class, which will be 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Meghan Shigo\u2019s office, 351 E. Center St. in Anaheim.<\/p>\n

Lots of opportunities to hear some music<\/h4>\n

Mark your calendars, the 2026 Concerts in the Park series is about ready to return.<\/p>\n

The Thursday night concerts in Modjeska Park will be at 6:30 p.m. tonight, June 18, and June 25.<\/p>\n

The Concerts in the Canyon at Ronald Reagan Park will be July 9, July 16, July 23 and July 30.<\/p>\n

And, the Pearson Park Amphitheatre concerts will be July 25, Aug. 1, Aug. 8, Aug. 15 and Aug. 22.<\/p>\n

With funding help from Disneyland, the concerts are free.<\/p>\n

Keep up with reading this summer<\/h4>\n

The annual summer reading incentive program soon returns to Anaheim Public Library.<\/p>\n

To help encourage young readers to keep up with their reading during the summer, the Anaheim library system has a Summer Reading Program with special events, familiy activies and reading incentives.<\/p>\n

The program runs from June 8 to July 26. Look for more information at Anaheim.net\/summerreading<\/p>\n

Also, did you know that you can check out local state parks and beaches with your Anaheim Public Library card.\u00a0 Stop by an APL branch and ask for a CA State Parks Pass at the Circulation Desk.<\/p>\n

Learn to clog<\/h4>\n

Anaheim Colony resident Brian Bon, director of the on Family Cloggers, is is looking for kids who want to learn clogging.<\/p>\n

He has been based in Southern California for 30 years and his dance group is nationally recognized.<\/p>\n

This is a great activity for kids and the class will be held in the Colony \u2013\u00a0 it will be a six-week class that is lots of fun, but there is limited space.<\/p>\n

Classes are offered at the Anaheim United Methodist Church.\u00a0 Students ages 6 through adult are welcome.<\/p>\n

Donations needed for thrift store<\/h4>\n

If you have done some spring cleaning and have items to donate, consider the Zion Thrift Store on Lincoln Avenue.<\/p>\n

Housewares and decorative items are needed. Proceeds from the thrift shop support the church and its schools, and the donation of goods to local homeless and animal ministries.<\/p>\n

The store is at 1425 E. Lincoln Ave., right across the street from The Original Pancake House. Hours are 10\u00a0 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays.<\/p>\n
