{"id":17357,"date":"2026-06-23T22:04:39","date_gmt":"2026-06-23T22:04:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/siliconvalleymovingpost.com\/?p=17357"},"modified":"2026-06-23T22:04:39","modified_gmt":"2026-06-23T22:04:39","slug":"sepulveda-boulevard-lane-closures-to-begin-for-lax-pedestrian-bridge-work","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/siliconvalleymovingpost.com\/?p=17357","title":{"rendered":"Sepulveda Boulevard lane closures to begin for LAX pedestrian bridge work"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>Temporary lane restrictions and road closures will begin next month on Sepulveda Boulevard near LAX to accommodate construction of a new pedestrian bridge.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/siliconvalleymovingpost.com\/?p=17355\">Police: Northern California library shooter influenced by Columbine massacre<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The closures are part of the Airfield and Terminal Modernization Program Roadway Improvements Project, which includes a pedestrian bridge spanning Sepulveda Boulevard at Century Boulevard, according to Los Angeles World Airports.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe ATMP Roadway Improvements project is one of the most ambitious transportation projects in our city,\u201d Mike Christensen, chief airports development officer for Los Angeles World Airports, said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese temporary road closures on Sepulveda Boulevard will help us deliver a new pedestrian bridge that provides access to LAX while reducing vehicle traffic congestion and increasing pedestrian safety,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>The first major construction period is scheduled for July 13-17 and will involve intermittent nightly traffic breaks on southbound Sepulveda Boulevard between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.<\/p>\n<p>Officials said traffic could be stopped for up to 20 minutes at a time between midnight and 4 a.m. while crews install support beams for the bridge structure. Up to four southbound lanes may be closed during the work.<\/p>\n<p>A second construction phase is scheduled to begin at 1 a.m. July 18 and will require a full closure of northbound Sepulveda Boulevard between Century Boulevard and 98th Street.
