Girls basketball coaches Brad Willis of Villa Park and Ramez Michail of Savanna have accepted new positions.<\/p>\n

Willis is the new boys basketball coach for Villa Park and Michail is the new co-coach for the Kennedy girls, Fighting Irish coach Nori Nishida confirmed.<\/p>\n

Willis rebuilt Villa Park\u2019s girls basketball program during his 11-year tenure.<\/p>\n

The Spartans went 179-133 under the coach, won four league titles and reached three CIF-SS quarterfinals, including in Division 1 this past season.<\/p>\n

Villa Park went 2-22 the season before Willis arrived.<\/p>\n

He formerly served as a lower-level coach for late Villa Park boys coach Kevin Reynolds.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s kind of coming back home for me,\u201d Willis said of his shift to boys basketball. \u201cI coached the boys under Coach Reynolds as one of his lower-level coaches before I took the girls job (at Villa Park).\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI felt strongly about at least applying for the (boys) job to carry on Coach Reynolds\u2019 legacy and that is what I intend to do.\u201d<\/p>\n

Michail led Savanna\u2019s to historic heights during his five-year tenure.<\/p>\n

He guided the Rebels this past season to the CIF-SS Division 6 title \u2014 the first section championship in school history \u2014 and trips to the CIF SoCal Regional the past three seasons.<\/p>\n

Michail led the Rebels to two league crowns and posted an 89-35 record.<\/p>\n

\n<\/div>\n

This past season, Kennedy claimed the CIF-SS Division 7 championship \u2014 the first section crown in school history \u2014 and feature one the county\u2019s top sophomores-to-be in Ta\u2019Niya Paul.<\/p>\n
