Canyon Hills Library is also looking for teen volunteers who are entering high school to help the library staff this summer.<\/p>\n

A Teen Volunteer Orientation is scheduled from 4 to 5 p.m. on May 29 and June 2. All teens who are interested are invited to attend. This is a great opportunity to help the library and earn volunteer service hours at the same time.<\/p>\n

The East Anaheim branch will host a special book tasting event from 1 to 2:30 p.m. on May 23 at the branch. Sample book genres that are paired with snacks for a fun reading experience that is open to all ages.<\/p>\n

Also, Friends of Canyon Hills Library has a flash book sale slated from 10 to 3 p.m. on May 19 and May 20 in the Multipurpose Room at the Canyon Hills branch.<\/p>\n

This is a great chance to purchase used books and unique collectibles all at bargain prices. Remember, all proceeds support various library programs for the community.<\/p>\n

New leadership for hills Ebell Club<\/h4>\n

Newly elected officers of the Ebell Club of Canyon Hills for the 2026-27 club year were installed recently during a luncheon meeting.<\/p>\n

Heather Terjung and Donna Frize assumed the duties of co-presidents, taking over the reins from outgoing president Barbara Shaia, selecting \u201cCaring Hands, Caring Hearts,\u201d as their theme.<\/p>\n

The newly installed board also includes: Joy Lais and Linda Schleiger, 1st vice presidents, philanthropy; Jean Rico, 2nd vice president, ways and means; Sharon Woodward and Joyce Rogers, 3rd vice presidents, membership; Gayle Cornejo, 4th vice president, programs; and Joan Coy and Charlyn Barton, 5th vice presidents, social.<\/p>\n

\n<\/div>\n

Others are: Patti Fairman, recording secretary; Linda Lewis, corresponding secretary; Mai Hinwood and Monika Caplis, treasurers; Sharon Hlapcich, parliamentarian and Claudia Thielmann, bulletin.<\/p>\n

Installing officers Joy Lais and Joan Coy presented symbolic candy treats to each board member that creatively depicted their job description.<\/p>\n

Membership in the Ebell Club is open to all women in the Anaheim Hills and surrounding communities interested in fun, friendship and the community. Meetings are held at 10 a.m. on the first Monday of the month, except August, in the Fellowship Hall at Canyon Hills Presbyterian Church. The club does not meet in July.<\/p>\n

Canyon Hills Presbyterian plans VBS<\/h4>\n

A \u201cFestival of Faith\u201d Vacation Bible School, sponsored by the Children\u2019s Ministry at Canyon Hills Presbyterian Church, is scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon on July 20-24 in the church\u2019s Fellowship Hall.<\/p>\n

Registration is open for all kids in the community aged 4 (potty trained) to sixth grade, offering a creative experience consisting of arts, crafts, music, science, cooking, dancing and much more for all attendees.<\/p>\n

On stage at the Chance<\/h4>\n

The Chance Theater is currently featuring \u201cSanctuary City\u201d on its Fyda-Mar Stage at the Bette Aitken theater arts Center, with an extended run through May 31.<\/p>\n

This three-actor play, starring Spike Pulice, Vicky Yvonne and Jonathan Keyes, shares a \u201cdeeply poignant and deeply human story,\u201d from Pulitizer Prize-winning playwright Martyna Majok. Directed by Oanh Nguyen, this production makes its Orange County premiere and is fast becoming a community favorite.<\/p>\n
