{"id":7372,"date":"2026-05-18T04:06:14","date_gmt":"2026-05-18T04:06:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/siliconvalleymovingpost.com\/?p=7372"},"modified":"2026-05-18T04:06:14","modified_gmt":"2026-05-18T04:06:14","slug":"roki-sasaki-delivers-best-start-of-major-league-career-as-dodgers-rout-angels","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/siliconvalleymovingpost.com\/?p=7372","title":{"rendered":"Roki Sasaki delivers best start of major league career as Dodgers rout Angels"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>In a series in which everything went right for the Dodgers, it ended with Roki Sasaki having the best start of his young career.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/siliconvalleymovingpost.com\/?p=7370\">Roki Sasaki dominates as Dodgers\u2019 offense stays hot in sweep of Angels<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Sasaki pitched a career-high seven innings, allowed just one run on four hits with eight strikeouts in the Dodgers\u2019 10-1 win over the Angels Sunday at Angel Stadium.<\/p>\n<p>He got his second win of the season and lowered his ERA from 5.88 to 5.09.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think he\u2019s been trending (up),\u201d Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said. \u201cDalton (Rushing) did a great job with him. They were in lockstep all game. It was great to see him be efficient and continue to do what he\u2019s telling everyone that he needs to do better.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Both of Sasaki\u2019s wins this season have come with Rushing as his catcher. Rushing caught Sasaki in the Dodgers\u2019 12-4 win over the Cubs on April 25.<\/p>\n<p>Sasaki\u2019s numbers with Rushing as his catcher are only marginally better than when Will Smith is catching. Sasaki has a 5.04 ERA with Rushing behind the plate and a 5.17 ERA with Smith as his battery-mate.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe looked really good today,\u201d Rushing said of Sasaki. \u201cWe know that what he just did was obviously the best we\u2019ve seen up to this point, but I trust that guy\u2019s got a lot more in the tank. It was fun to work with him today.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sasaki had plenty of run support from the Dodgers\u2019 (29-18) offense. The Dodgers had 11 hits, drew six walks and went 7 for 11 with runners in scoring position.<\/p>\n<div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The Dodgers scored five runs in the fourth inning, which knocked Angels\u2019 returning starting pitcher Grayson Rodriguez out of the game. With two outs, Shohei Ohtani and Andy Pages hit back-to-back 2-run singles to extend the Dodgers\u2019 lead to 6-0. Ohtani went 3 for 5 with two RBIs and had an excellent series, going 6 for 13 with seven RBIs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe played pretty much perfect games here in Anaheim. Both pitching and hitting did a good job,\u201d Ohtani said through an interpreter. \u201cMy strike zone awareness is a lot better.
