The project is designed for the purpose of perpetuating local heritage and to awaken interest and develop civic pride.\u00a0 There will be a wide variety of styles and different mediums represented in the pieces displayed.<\/p>\n

The exhibit will open on May 28 and be available through July 9.<\/p>\n

Learn to clog<\/h4>\n

Anaheim Colony resident Brian Bon, director of the on Family Cloggers, is is looking for kids who want to learn clogging.<\/p>\n

He has been based in Southern California for 30 years and his dance group is nationally recognized.<\/p>\n

This is a great activity for kids and the class will be held in the Colony \u2013\u00a0 it will be a six-week class that is lots of fun, but there is limited space.<\/p>\n

Classes are offered at the Anaheim United Methodist Church.\u00a0 Students ages 6 through adult are welcome.<\/p>\n

Muzeo takes a look at two moments in history<\/h4>\n

The Muzeo Museum and Cultural Center has two spring exhibits on display through July 12 that celebrate moments in the city\u2019s past.<\/p>\n

The Muzeo\u2019s Main Gallery will present \u201cConcrete Wave: Vans at 60 and the Birth of Anaheim Skateboard Culture,\u201d which is a tribute to Vans\u2019 60th anniversary and the pioneering skate culture that took root right in Anaheim.<\/p>\n

In the historic Carnegie Building, \u201cCatching the Spirit of \u201976: America\u2019s Bicentennial\u201d will commemorate the nation\u2019s 250th birthday with a look back to 1976.<\/p>\n

Also, there will be a \u201cSummer of Skate\u201d bingo fundraiser scheduled from 5 to 8 p.m. on June 6 with dinner, specialty cocktails and bingo. Cost is $65 single ticket, $500 table of eight.<\/p>\n

Anaheim library branches have more May plans<\/h4>\n

On May 28, at 4:30 p.m., the Haskett Library will present \u201cFamily Star Night at the Library.\u201d This is a monthly astronomy program, open to all ages. Call 714-765-5075 for reservations.<\/p>\n

Also, a K-Pop Party will be coming to the Haskett Library on May 29. There will be album swapping and photocard frame decorating. Participants can bring their own albums and photocards. Materials for the photocard frame decorating will be provided.<\/p>\n

The Haskett Library is at 2650 W. Broadway in Anaheim.<\/p>\n

At the Sunkist Library, 902 S. Sunkist in Anaheim, there will be a presentation on the history of the Anaheim Police Department at 2 p.m. on May 23.<\/p>\n

Dive into some Disney history<\/h4>\n

The Anaheim Historical Society will be featuring author Roland Betancourt in an upcoming event.<\/p>\n

The evening will include a discussion of the Betancourt\u2019s book, \u201cDisneyland and the Rise of Automation,\u201d followed by a book signing. Jeff Kurtti, a Disney historian, will also contribute.<\/p>\n

Anaheim Beautiful is offering its second quarterly property awards for 2026.<\/p>\n

Anaheim Flag Day is once again planned for June 14 at Pearson Park<\/p>\n

The annual event will include a parade, live music, historic reenactments, classic cars and more from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.\u00a0 This year\u2019s Flag Day will celebrate America\u2019s 250th anniversary with a community tribute to Old Glory.<\/p>\n

Lots of opportunities for outdoor concerts<\/h4>\n

Mark your calendars, the 2026 Concerts in the Park series is about ready to return.<\/p>\n

The Thursday night concerts in Modjeska Park will be 6:30 p.m. on June 11, June 18 and June 25.<\/p>\n

The Concerts in the Canyon at Ronald Reagan Park will be July 9, July 16, July 23 and July 30.<\/p>\n

And, the Pearson Park Amphitheatre concerts will be July 25, Aug. 1, Aug. 8, Aug. 15 and Aug. 22.<\/p>\n

With funding help from Disneyland, the concerts are free.<\/p>\n
