One person died and at least one other person was injured in a collision that involved multiple tractor-trailers Thursday on the 5 Freeway in Norwalk.

A vehicle overturned after a collision involving two tractor-trailers around 12:09 a.m. Thursday on the southbound Santa Ana (5) Freeway in Norwalk near Rosecrans Avenue, the California Highway Patrol said.

At least one person who was injured during the collision was transported to the hospital, the CHP said, but the specific number of people injured was not immediately available.

The dead victim was initially transported to the hospital and declared dead there, the CHP said.

The total number of vehicles involved in the collision was not immediately available.

All lanes reopened on the Santa Ana (5) Freeway at 4:23 a.m., the CHP said.

Video from the scene shows an overturned vehicle with broken glass shattered around the area and a tractor-trailer stopped at the scene.
