The Center Art Gallery in the Downtown Community Center has an exhibit on display: “Anaheim – Through the Eyes of an Artist” and these are the last days to see it.

The project is designed for the purpose of perpetuating local heritage and to awaken interest and develop civic pride.  There are a wide variety of styles and different mediums represented in the pieces displayed.

The exhibit will be available through July 9.

Quartermania to help scholarships

Anaheim Beautiful has a Quartermania fundraiser coming up on July 10.

This fun event benefits and supports the Miss Anaheim Beautiful Scholarship Program. Over the years, Anaheim Beautiful has offered more than $50,000 in educational scholarships.

The Quartermania will be at 6 p.m. at the Downtown Anaheim Community Center. Tickets are $45 each and include a paddle, opportunity ticket, appetizer buffet, dessert bar, and more.

Summer fun at the library

The summer reading program is underway at the Anaheim Public Library branches and there are some special events coming up.

There will be an Angels Baseball storytime from 11 a.m. to noon on July 21 at the Central Library, 500 W. Broadway;  and children can get up close to sea life from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on July 22 at the Haskett Branch, 2650 W. Broadway. F

Wings of Kindness has summer plans

Wings of Kindness had a new youth night program that recently welcomed 50 neighbors, children and adults to enjoy tacos, friendships and more.

Next, Wings of Kindness is also preparing for its third annual Summer Extravaganza & Backpack Giveaway on July 24.

The group is looking for sponsors, volunteers and donations of new backpacks and school supplies. Donations can be dropped off at Mondragon Family Market, 407 E. North St. Call 714-309-3607 for more information.

Muzeo has summer concerts planned

The Muzeo Museum and Cultural Center has a free summer concert series.

The performers will be Sol Societe, a 1970s-influenced original pop group, on July 10 and Clever Soul, a ’70s R & B group, on Aug.  14.

The concerts will be held right in the Muzeo’s Carnegie Plaza, gates open at 6 p.m. Take your own lawn chair; wine and beer will be available for purchase.

The Muzeo has two spring exhibits on display through July 12 that celebrate moments in the city’s past.

The Muzeo’s Main Gallery will present “Concrete Wave: Vans at 60 and the Birth of Anaheim Skateboard Culture,” which is a tribute to Vans’ 60th anniversary and the pioneering skate culture that took root right in Anaheim.

In the historic Carnegie Building, “Catching the Spirit of ’76: America’s Bicentennial” will commemorate the nation’s 250th birthday with a look back to 1976.

Lots of opportunities to hear some music

Mark your calendars, the 2026 Concerts in the Park series is about ready to return.

The Concerts in the Canyon at Ronald Reagan Park will be July 9, July 16, July 23 and July 30.

And, the Pearson Park Amphitheatre concerts will be July 25, Aug. 1, Aug. 8, Aug. 15 and Aug. 22.

With funding help from Disneyland, the concerts are free.
