A vehicle dropped off a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in an Anaheim neighborhood on Friday evening, July 3, police said.

Officers responded around 6:42 p.m. to the 300 block of East Wakefield Avenue, where callers reported the driver of a dark-colored vehicle dropped off the victim, Anaheim police Sgt. Eric Anderson said via email.
The victim was taken to UC Irvine Medical Center “where he is currently receiving emergency medical care,” Anderson said.

The investigation was “very active” as detectives interviewed witnesses and gathered evidence, Anderson added.
