There’s a hoppy mystery unfolding in Southern California.
Thousands of dollars worth of beer and a semi-truck scheduled for shipment from Montclair on Aug. 17 never arrived at its San Diego destination, according to Pabst Blue Ribbon.
Over the last week, the alcohol company took to social media, asking fans to direct message or tag PBR in photos of what could be the missing truck.
“To the thief,” Pabst Blue Ribbon wrote on Instagram, “we don’t fault you for wanting to brag to your friends how much PBR you have (sic), we just wish you obtained it the honorable way.”
The alcohol shipment, valued at about $45,000, was last seen at an Anheuser-Busch distribution center in the 4500 block of Brooks Street on Aug. 17, according to Montclair police. Stolen inventory included more than 1,400 cases of Pabst Blue Ribbon and nearly 200 cases of Old Milwaukee Non-Alcoholic Beer, according to PBR officials.
A subcontractor was scheduled to deliver the alcohol, but the truck never reached its destination, police said.

Police are investigating to learn what happened and where the alcohol and truck went. Officials asked that anyone with information to contact Montclair police.
“We also appreciate all the individuals who have been sharing possible sightings of the truck,” a Pabst Blue Ribbon spokesperson said in a statement.
“We hope that whoever managed to steal our truck also knows the importance of keeping beer cold,” the spokesperson continued.
PBR also offered an undisclosed reward to anyone who can help solve the case.
“OUR TOP CONCERN,” the company wrote on Instagram, “There will be no good beer to drink in San Diego.”‘
