Construction began in January on the expansion project that will add the Avengers Infinity Defense and Stark Flight Lab attractions to Avengers Campus. Opening dates have not been set for the two new rides.

The Avengers Campus test-and-adjust working leads will be assembling in the coming months to work with Walt Disney Imagineering to prepare the new attractions before opening.

The test-and-adjust team will work with Imagineering to put the new rides through their paces before they open to the public at the Anaheim theme park.

The team will help Imagineering test every component, troubleshoot any problems and provide feedback to help establish the best operating procedures for the rides.

Fine tuning the attractions will serve as a hands-on tutorial for the test-and-adjust team that will eventually become experts in the operation of the two new rides.

The test-and-adjust team was selected from themed lands across Disneyland and Disney California Adventure — including Mickey’s Toontown, Tomorrowland, Pixar Pier, Adventureland, Cars Land, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and Avengers Campus.

Avengers Campus test-and-adjust team leader Mark Diwas helped launch Millenium Falcon: Smugglers Run in 2019 and Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage in 2007 during his 24-year Disneyland career.

“I can’t believe we’re finally here choosing the test-and-adjust team,” Diwas said in a statement released by Disneyland.

The Avengers Infinity Defense dark ride will transport riders aboard a world-jumping spaceship to remote worlds and alternate realities throughout the Marvel multiverse using a blend of large-scale built environments and immersive media.

The Stark Flight Lab attraction will be set inside Tony Stark’s workshop where riders will fly like Iron Man at the end of an auto factory-style robotic arm during a simulated flight.

Robert Downey Jr., who will play the supervillain Doctor Doom in the new “Avengers: Doomsday” debuting in December, will reprise his role as Tony Stark/Iron Man for both new Avengers Campus attractions.
