Santa Margarita’s boys golf team has claimed the Trinity League title and secured a CIF-SS playoff berth entering its league finale Thursday against Servite at Coto de Caza Golf and Racquet Club.
Santa Margarita is 14-0 overall record, including 9-0 in league.
“Our depth is our strength,” Santa Margarita coach Jim Tinker said.
Last week, Santa Margarita defeated Servite 180-185 at Western Hills Country Country. Freshman Ryan Hang shot a 1-under-par 34 to earn medalist honors for the nine-hole competition.
Santa Margarita’s Daniel He and Alex Sheehan carded 36s to tie for fourth.
Servite’s Hanks Wang and Jasper Zhou each shot even-par 35 to tie for second while Eason Chen joined the group in fourth with a 36.

Santa Margarita is expected to be among the contenders in the CIF-SS Division 1 team finals on May 18.
In the Trinity League individual finals last week, Mater Dei’s Brayden Jones won the title with an 8-under-par score of 136 over two rounds. Santa Margarita freshmen Oscar Liang and Dylan Zhang tied for second at 139.
