A Disneyland kids festival celebrating Mickey Mouse, Sofia the First, SuperKitties and other Disney Jr. characters will turn Hollywood Backlot at Disney California Adventure into a playground for children in preschool and early elementary grades.

Disney Jr. Let’s Play returns Aug. 13-16 with parades, shows, food and music at Disney California Adventure and Downtown Disney.

Disneyland launched the inaugural Disney Junior kids festival geared toward 2- to 7-year-olds in 2022.

Highlights of this year’s event on Aug. 13 at DCA include:

  • Let’s Play Block Party parade (10:30 a.m.)
  • Confection Purrfection with the SuperKitties cupcake decorating party (11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.)
  • “Disney Jr. Let’s Play Live” (2, 3 and 4 p.m.)
  • Disney Jr. character meet-and-greet photo opportunities (throughout the day)

The Animation Academy will have Disney artists teaching kids how to draw characters from Disney Jr. TV shows from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live” stage show in DCA’s Disney Theater in Hollywood Land will be part of the celebration.

The four-day event continues Aug. 14-16 in Downtown Disney with the Let’s Play Bubbles Experience (1-10:30 p.m.) and DJ dance parties (noon to 10:30 p.m.) on the Downtown Disney Live stage along with special photo ops throughout the outdoor shopping mall next to Disneyland and DCA.
