After 37 years, Claim Jumper in Fountain Valley closed on Sunday.
Moving trucks were parked out front and boxes were left in the entrance where regional manager Andy Tourville read a statement from Claim Jumper’s parent company Kelly Restaurant Group. “It is with heavy hearts that we announce our Fountain Valley location permanently closed on Feb. 24th, 2020 due to a natural lease expiration and the landlord redeveloping the land.”

The building will be demolished, employees will move on. The company has offered “100% of the staff immediate transfers to any Claim Jumper or any other sister restaurant within the Claim Jumper management group.”
Claim Jumper in Brea closed in June after 25 years. But the chain still has 34 locations with restaurants in Arizona, California, Illinois, Louisiana, Nevada, Oregon, Tennessee and Washington state.

The statement concluded with a message to Fountain Valley’s customers. “We would like to sincerely thank the community for 37 great years and encourage guests to visit our nearby locations.” The next closest locations to Fountain Valley are Buena Park, Long Beach, Costa Mesa and Mission Viejo.
