In October, Irvine councilmembers unanimously named Sean Crumby the city’s seventh city manager. Crumby was promoted internally to fill a vacancy left by predecessor Oliver Chi, who accepted the city manager position with Santa Monica.

“Serving this organization has been the greatest honor of my professional career,” Crumby said. “Over the years, I have had the privilege of working alongside an exceptionally talented and dedicated team whose commitment to public service makes a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents every day.”

“This decision was not made lightly, but I believe it is the right time for me to start a new chapter. While I am excited about what lies ahead, leaving such a remarkable organization and group of colleagues weighs heavily on me,” he said.
