The Rosary Academy and Servite relay teams continued to sizzle, as did those teams’ athletes in individual events, JSerra’s Alden Morales performed at his usual high level and Jaslene Massey of Aliso Niguel was her usual self Saturday in the CIF Southern Section Masters Track and Field Meet at Moorpark High School.

The Masters Meet is the meet from which CIF-SS track and field athletes qualify for the CIF State Championships on Friday and Saturday, May 29 and 30, at Buchanan High in Clovis.
Rosary’s state-leading 4×100 girls relay team finished first in that race with a time of 44.79 seconds. The group’s best time this season is 44.23.
The next event was the 4×100 boys relay, which state-leader Servite won in 40.17 seconds. The Friars’ top time this year is 39.70.
Rosary’s 4×400 team finished second with a time of 3 minutes, 41.33 seconds. Long Beach Wilson was clocked at a national-best 3:33.83.
Rosary and Servite relay team members also are going to the CIF State meet as individuals.
Four Rosary runners qualified for the state meet in the 200: Maliyah Collins, Tra’Via Flournoy, Pfeiffer Lee and Justin Wilson.
Wilson qualified for the 400 at the CIF State meet. Her Royals teammates Collins and Flournoy qualified for the 100.
Servite’s Jaelen Hunter and Jace Wells are going to the state meet in the 400. Benjamin Harris and Robert Gardner will represent the Friars in the 100.
Harris won the 200 on Saturday with his time of 20.80 seconds. His county-leading time this season is 20.77. Servite’s Wells twins, Jace and Jorden, also qualified for the state meets in the 200.
Morales won the 800 with his time of 1 minute, 59.3 seconds. He is the state leader in that event with his 1:50.24 last month in the Mt. SAC Relays.
Massey won the discus with a mark of 165 feet and 10 inches and the shot put with her throw of 49 feet. Her best marks this season are 188-7 in the discus and 53-2 in the shot put.

Mater Dei’s Eden Murray qualified for the state meet in the 100 and 200.
Zachary Taylor of Trabuco Hills also was a double-qualifier for the state meet in the shot put and discus.
Irvine’s Summer Wilson had her best 3,200 of the season. Wilson completed the eight laps in 10 minutes, 14.45 seconds. Her previous season best was 10:23.01.
Reese Holley of JSerra qualified for the state meet in two events, the 800 and the 1,600.
Other Orange County athletes who qualified for the state meet in the 1,600: Santa Margarita’s Carol Dye, JSerra’s Maya Pawlowicz and El Toro’s Gweneth Williams.
Isabella Wroblewski of Yorba Linda also is going to the state meet in the 800.
Aidan Antonio of Woodbridge qualified in two events. He won the 3,200 with his time of 8 minutes, 55.30 seconds. Antonio was second in the 1,600 at 4 minutes, 6.54 seconds.
Another O.C. qualifier in the boys 1,600 was JSerra’s Luke Friedl.
Newport Harbor multi-event standout Natalie McCarty qualified in the 100 and 300 hurdles. Aliso Niguel’s Dana Malloy qualified in the long jump and triple jump.
Some county athletes finished just ahead of the competition to qualify for the state meet. Among them was Orange Lutheran’s Baron Giachetto, the sixth and final qualifier in the 110 hurdles with his time of 14.27 seconds.
Zion Chambers of Los Alamitos qualified in the high jump with his clearance of 6 feet, 8 inches to match his county-leading mark of this season.
Cassidy Nguyen of Los Alamitos had her best day of her season in the pole vault with a winning clearance of 13 feet, 2 inches.
Crean Lutheran’s Noah Richardson equaled his county-leading season best in the pole vault with his victorious clearance of 15 feet, 16 inches.
