1. JSerra: The reigning CIF-SS Division 1 champion lost Orange County player of the year Ava Irwin to Sierra Canyon but gained Orange Lutheran transfers Anna Paquette and Abigail Vanderweerd. The Lions return top QBs Kate Meier and Ava Van Heerde, plus two-way standout Tessa Russell among others.
2. Huntington Beach: A Division 1 semifinalist the past two seasons, the Oilers return QB Roxie Shaia and top targets Brianna Massion, Shelby Nguyen and Daisy Quatman. Huntington Beach lost to Sierra Canyon 19-13 in the semifinals of the preseason Pacific Preview tournament.
3. Orange Lutheran: Quarterback Makena Cook and wide receiver Happy Dubois transferred to Sierra Canyon but the Lancers remain talented with players such as Josie Anderson, Capri Cuneo and Ava Harrison. New coach Dennis Hester will feature Alyssa McClure at quarterback.
4. Newport Harbor: The Sailors, co-champion of the Sunset League last season, return their dynamic duo of dual-threat quarterback Scarlett Guyser and wide receiver Skylie Cid.
5. Mater Dei: The Monarchs and first-year coach Aaron Castillo have added major transfers in Cypress quarterback Tymane Allen and Crean Lutheran wide receiver Allyson Schmida. Mater Dei features another QB to watch in Kyla Knabe.

6. Edison: Quarterback Maddie Phung and athlete Sadie Olivares return from a squad that reached the Division 1 quarterfinals last season. Defensive standout Addison Bond is expected to play more offense.
7. Corona del Mar: The Sea Kings return all but one starter from their CIF-SS Division 2 championship team last season, including quarterback Addi Stern.
8. Beckman: Watch out for Beckman and senior QB Marina Babayani in the new-look South Coast League. The Patriots recently edged Orange Lutheran 13-12 in the preseason Pacific Preview.
9. Trabuco Hills: The Mustangs graduated Emma Ortiz but return several strong players, including QB Ellie Tapper and tailback Ky Chappel.
10. Woodbridge: The Warriors and returning quarterback Delia Stone are contenders to watch in the competitive Pacific Coast League. Portola is the defending champion.
