LOS ANGELES — A UCLA fan favorite and beloved Olympic gold medalist is making her return to Pauley Pavilion.

UCLA gymnastics announced that Jordan Chiles will return as a student coach.

Chiles won a gold and bronze medal in the Paris Olympics before becoming a four-time NCAA champion for UCLA  in the uneven bars in 2023 and 2025, in the floor exercise in 2023 and 2026, and she won the Big Ten All-Around title in 2026.

After an impressive career in the NCAA, World and Olympic competition, Chiles becomes a mentor for three seniors and 14 underclassmen after she led UCLA to both the Big Ten Conference regular season and championship team titles, before the team finished fifth overall.

Key returners for UCLA gymnastics are sophomore Ashlee Sullivan and Tiana Sumanasekera. Sullivan and Sumanasekera earned All-Big Ten Conference honors as freshmen.
