“The impact for greater Orange County is going to be spectacular and something that the market has wanted, has needed, and we are proud to be able to bring it to life,” OCVibe Senior Vice President of Entertainment Eric Bressler said.

Bressler announced the opening window for the concert hall under construction next to the Honda Center on Friday, July 24, after a hard-hat tour event showcasing its progress.

At buildout, the concert hall will accommodate up to 5,000 audience members — 1,700 will be seated — and will compete to book artists otherwise headed to mid-sized venues in Los Angeles, such as the Greek Theater and Peacock Theater.

The venue will feature 18,000 square feet for adjustable seating, eight bars and the upstairs Gallagher Club, a premium guest club that has a deck overlooking OCVibe’s also-under-construction Urban Park and Katella Commons and the Honda Center.

The concert hall and Katella Commons are the first big pieces that will open at OCVibe, a 100-acre, $4 billion entertainment, office and residential development rising around the Honda Center, which is also undergoing a $1 billion makeover.

As part of the massive OCVibe project that promises Orange County a shiny downtown, there will also be the Golden Bear, a 300-capacity club expected to open in 2029, a diverse menu of restaurants, parks and plazas, housing and office space and more. OCVibe leaders have said a goal is to offer music entertainment at all levels from the small club to an arena show.

Katella Commons, a kitchen market hall across from the concert hall, is expected to open around March as well, officials said.

The concert hall’s name and initial lineup of programming will be announced “in November or December,” OCVibe officials said Friday.
