A 100-pound pig named Honey will soon be heading to her new home after being adopted Wednesday following an appeal from Pasadena Humane for the public’s help.

Pasadena Humane told City News Service Wednesday afternoon that Honey had been adopted. The animal’s previous owner was unable to continue caring for her.
“Meet Honey, the 100-pound pig who’s as sweet as her name! Honey’s guardian was unable to care for her anymore, so she’s seeking a new home that’s the right fit for her,” the Humane Society said in its original Facebook post.
“This adorable pig is so friendly and comes right up to the front of her kennel to greet new people. We absolutely love her,” the organization added.

The Humane Society noted that pigs have specific needs involving nutrition, enrichment, veterinary care and space, and that local regulations governing ownership vary by city.
According to the organization, Bradbury, South Pasadena, Monrovia and Sierra Madre allow pigs, while Pasadena, Arcadia, Glendale, La Cañada Flintridge, San Marino and Los Angeles do not.
The donor-supported nonprofit organization, which provides shelter services for Pasadena and several surrounding communities, said pigs are smart and social and can make good pets for people able to provide the proper care.
