Three staterooms inspired by the Queen Mary’s reported paranormal activity will be available for overnight stays beginning this month as the historic ocean liner adds a series of events for the Halloween season.

The three rooms, collectively called Paranormal Passage, are in staterooms B326, B328 and B334, and are based on stories and legends associated with the ship, according to Queen Mary officials.
The Dressing Chamber is inspired by the purported Lady in White, Jackie’s Room draws on a legend associated with the ship’s former first-class swimming pool, and The Officer’s Study is based on stories of uniformed figures reportedly seen in the ship’s passageways.
The rooms expand on the ship’s Stateroom B340, which has long been associated with reports of paranormal activity.
“There’s an incredible fascination with the Queen Mary’s paranormal history and the stories that have become part of her lore,” Queen Mary General Manager Dylan Matteson said. “Our guests want to know more, explore more and get closer to those stories.”
Other seasonal events will include the new Grey Ghost Galley, a 90-minute, all-you-can-eat buffet offered on Dark Harbor nights in the ship’s Show Room. The $70 buffet will include early access to the Queen Mary before Dark Harbor opens.
Seatings will be offered at 6 p.m., with an additional 4 p.m. seating on Fridays and Saturdays.

The Queen Mary will also begin a new event called Spookeasy on Sept. 28 for guests 21 and older. The event will include a cocktail, stories about the ship’s purportedly haunted history and a short tour, followed by activities at the ship’s N.o3 Speakeasy including tarot, crystal and palm readings and a meditative sound bath.
Spookeasy is scheduled from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Sept. 28, and Oct. 5, 12 and 19.
The Queen Mary’s “Murder on the High Seas” will run on select dates from Sept. 13 through Oct. 19, combining a three-course dinner with an interactive musical murder mystery. A matinee is scheduled Sept. 13, followed by evening performances Oct. 5, 12 and 19.
The ship will also screen Alfred Hitchcock’s “Psycho” Sept. 28, “Beetlejuice” Oct. 12 and “The Shining” Oct. 19 in its private theater. The films will begin at 6:45 p.m.The Queen Mary’s existing Graveyard Tour, Paranormal Ship Walk and Haunted Encounters will continue during the fall.
Dark Harbor, the ship’s annual Halloween event, will return for select nights from Sept. 18 through Nov. 1.
The Queen Mary is marking the 90th anniversary of its maiden voyage this year. The ship made its maiden voyage in May 1936 and has been moored in Long Beach since 1967.
