As news of Big Bear bald eagle Jackie’s fight, injury and subsequent transport to recover at a raptor care facility in Ojai, so many came forward with words of concern.

The eagle, made famous by the continuous online video feed with her partner Shadow, was reportedly in an altercation with two other eagles over the weekend in the San Bernardino Mountains, just outside eagle habitat closed to the public.
She’s since been taken to the Ojai Raptor Center, a rescue and rehabilitation center in Ventura County, for treatment and to recover.
On Tuesday, the raptor center said the eagle’s condition remained critical, and “a very serious case,” in a Facebook post. “While the eagle remains alert and is eating, it is still too early to predict the outcome.”
