Friends of Canyon Hills Library will host a flash book sale on Monday and Tuesday in the Multipurpose Room at Canyon Hills Library showcasing various fiction, non-fiction and specialty books all at bargain prices.

In addition to used books, the sale will also offer other items such as games, puzzles and collectibles.
Sale hours will be 10 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. All proceeds help support various programs at the library for the community.
Also at the Canyon Hills Library, get ready for a special interactive experience when the Aquarium of the Pacific’s Tidepool on Wheels visits on Aug. 1.
This free hands-on event is scheduled from 11 a.m. until 2:30 p.m., and will include the opportunity to touch sea creatures and enjoy crafts, games and food inspired by Perry Jackson, the son of Poseidon and champion of ocean conservation in the book series by Rick Riordan.
This event is intended for all ages.

Help the Woman’s Club with its philanthropy
A New Member Get Together is planned by the Woman’s Club of Orange at 10 a.m. on Aug. 5 at the group’s clubhouse in Orange.
This gathering is an opportunity to learn more about the nonprofit, its club sections, such as Book Club, Bunco, Garden and fun activities and meet current club members. Light refreshments will be served.

Also, tickets are still available for the “Look What Fell Out De Mango Tree” performance at 3 p.m. on Aug. 16 at the Woman’s Club of Orange’s Clubhouse.
This event features the newest play written and performed by Jamaican-born actress and playwright Debra Ehrhardt who combines humor, heartbreak and revelation into her compelling storyline about family dynamics of love, hurt and forgiveness. It also stars actor Christopher Grossett, who has performed at the Hudson Theatre in Los Angeles and the Lincoln Center Stage in New York, and is directed by Grammy- and Oscar-winning songwriter: Paul Williams.
Tickets are $30 each and proceeds will help the nonprofit WCO support various local charities. The WCO Clubhouse is at 121 S. Center St., Orange.

Enjoy a concert, help with education
Join an evening of music and mission at the Sandiwaan Benefit Concert on Aug. 16 featuring the acclaimed Le Van Family and Friends at the Poong Jesus Nazareno Filipino Catholic Center in Anaheim.
Hosted by the Diocese of Orange San Jose Filipino Ministry, this special benefit concert supports the Sandiwaan Center for Learning and the development of AI Learning Innovation Hubs in the mountains of the Cordillera in the Philippines. These hubs serve children of impoverished farmers, indigenous families, and school dropouts offering education, dignity and hope.
The 5 to 7 p.m. concert will feature the classical pianist Eric Le Van, known for his recordings of Brahms, Scriabin, and Liszt; jazz and classical pianist Sean Le Van, known for his distinctive style, first debuted as a jazz musician at Carnegie Hall at age 9; and Jose Luis Maldonado, aka ‘Baritone Joe’, who is hailed by Opera News as a “seemingly unlimited baritone” whom continuously entertains audiences across the globe.
General admission tickets are $45 until Aug. 1, when they then rise to $50 each. Tickets are available at bit.ly/sandiwaan. Seating is limited. The church is at 3700 W. Orange Ave.
Do the hula with the Women’s Connection
The Anaheim, Orange and Villa Park Women’s Connection are planning a Hawaiian-themed celebration Aug. 10 at the Black Gold Golf Club. All women are invited.
Doors open at 10:30 a.m. for shopping with onsite vendors; luncheon and program follow at 11:30 a.m. The afternoon program will feature Magdeline “Maggie” Raskopf, who will perform the hula and teach the dance to those in attendance. Pamela Radeka provides the musical entertainment. Guest speaker Susan Harvery will ask, “Are You in the Rock Tumbler?”
The day includes hostess gifts, door prizes and much more and concludes at 1:30 p.m.
