The Chargers’ wide receiver depth took a hit when they placed KeAndre Lambert-Smith on injured reserve on Tuesday because of a hamstring injury suffered during a 26-14 loss to the Arizona Cardinals in their season opener on Sunday. Lambert-Smith did not catch a pass on Sunday.

Lambert-Smith must sit out for at least the next four games, starting with Sunday’s home game against the Las Vegas Raiders. In addition to missing Lambert-Smith, the Chargers also could be without wide receiver Ladd McConkey, who sustained a rib injury on Sunday.
Coach Jim Harbaugh said McConkey and wide receiver Derius Davis (undisclosed) were day-to-day. McConkey had five catches for 82 yards and one touchdown against the Cardinals. Davis was hurt on a fourth-quarter play that resulted in the Cardinals’ Andrew Wingard’s interception.

In addition, wide receiver Gary Jennings was signed to the active roster and cornerback Isas Waxter was signed to the practice squad. Jennings began the season on the practice squad after he did not make the initial 53-man roster on Aug. 30. Waxter spent last season on the practice squad.
