The battle for the Jeweled Shillelagh is set to resume.
USC and Notre Dame are slated to play their next rivalry game in Week 1 of the 2030 season at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, the Trojans announced in a press release Monday morning. It will be the first of a four-game series.

“It remains important for us to play this game early in the season, as it allows us to schedule competitively with our Big Ten peers and takes into account the health and best interests of our student-athletes and program,” Athletic Director Jen Cohen said in a statement released by USC. “We are excited for our fans, and we look forward to more memorable matchups and unforgettable games between the Trojans and the Irish.”

The long-distance rivalry has been played 96 times since it began in 1926, and USC holds a 37-53-5 all-time record against Notre Dame but has lost the last three games against the Fighting Irish.
