Headed to the OC Fair this week? Here are some things to know.

General information

• Hours are 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays and 11 a.m. to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.

• General admission is $13 on Wednesdays and Thursdays and $18 on Fridays and weekends; tickets are $9 every day for children 6-12 and $10 for seniors 65 and older.

• Tickets must be purchased ahead online at ocfair.com. Daily attendance is capped at about 55,000 people and the fair tends to sell out on popular days.

• Parking is $15

• OC Fair Express runs weekends, with direct bus service from the ARTIC station in Anaheim, Fullerton Park-and-Ride, Goldenwest Transportation Center in Huntington Beach,  Irvine Train Station, Laguna Hills Transportation Center and the Santa Ana train station. Get information on times and locations at ocfair.com, cost is $2 each way.

Things to do

• On Saturday, July 25, teens from around the region will be showing off the animals they have raised in local FFA and 4-H programs during the annual Junior Livestock Auction at 10 a.m. in the Livestock Show Ring. The teens are around with their animals during the week.

• Get up close with sea creatures in a touch tank at the fair’s Orange County Sand and Sea exhibit in the OC Promenade building.

• Out at the Fair on Saturday, July 25, will celebrate the LGBTQ community from noon to 6 p.m. at the Plaza Pacific Stage.

• The fair is featuring “The Art of the Pour,” a new experience in the OC Promenade that offers cocktail and beer tasting experiences with a professional mixologist or a certified cicerone. Cost is $55, and there is limited seating on select Fridays and Sundays. You can book online at ocfair.com under featured exhibits.

• Cheer on the All-Alaskan Racing Pigs; races start every hour and a half beginning at 2 p.m. on Wednesdays through Fridays and 12:30 p.m. on the weekends in the Plaza Pacifica. The last race is 8 p.m. each day. And note: Seating is first come, so grab a snack and settle in early.
